  This is the best SW FL vet (Dr. Lura Jones) that I have had the pleasure of taking my pets to. I am one of those people that will spend pretty much anything to keep my pets healthy and happy, and my (mostly geriatric) dogs get their yearly checkups/bloodwork/testing every year without exception. Dr Lura doesn't ever suggest repeating tests or doing expensive dental work (obviously, I am not going to OK anesthesia for a 17 yr old large dog to get her teeth cleaned...yet many vets seem to want to convince me to do so). The whole staff is caring and calm, and super professional - even the ones who seem quite young (I'm guessing late teens or early 20's) are absolute pros. I have never gotten the feeling that someone there is "learning" how to take blood or do laser treatments on my animals (I have felt that way elsewhere). They always call to check on my pets after a visit, and they truly seem to care about how they are doing. I love this vet, and even though it is pricier, I am moving my pets from another vet to this one on a permanent basis. It's 100% worth it.
