  McCarter's BBQ, Dr. MLK Jr., Ft. Myers, Fl. Here is my 2 cents on the food & chatter.
  
  I have only had the ribs. Today chicken. $9 for a sandwich. Thats 6-7 pieces of chix and 2 slices of white bread.
  
  MMMMM so good.
  
  For you newbies this is the perfect hole in the wall. BBQ ribs & chicken. PERIOD. Florida mild. Florida hot. ( not really hot)
  
  CASH ONLY. VERY FRIENDLY. 5 stars for the food.. Situated on the corner of Cranford Ave/Dr. MLK Jr. Blvd.

  The Food. BBQ ribs & chicken. That is all they serve here. The ribs are the best around. U have mild sauce and spicy sauce.. Big and meaty. Oh yeah messy.
  
  I do find the hot sauce is a bit sour. They use jalapeño for heat.
  
  It is cash only no menu except on the wall and served in a foam container with white bread( to sop up the sauce).
  
  There are no set hours.They are open 7 days a week. They close when they run out.

  I picked up a full rack for $25 around 1130am, there were not a lot of customers when I arrived. Once we got home and started eating I realized these were the toughest ribs I've ever had. I thought I was chewing on my daddy's shoe. My friend couldn't finish them because of the toughness, he spit out what he had in his mouth. I was just chewing and chewing so I threw out over a half of the rack of ribs. I don't know if I got yesterday's ribs rewarmed or the pitmaster was not paying attention. They didn't have good taste, no fat, super chewy, dry, and very tough. It was more like beef jerky than succulent ribs. The owner seemed like a nice guy, but I wasted $25 and the time to pick them up.
  
  That all said, I have friends that have eaten there numerous times and have said his ribs have been fantastic. I'm willing to go back a second time and give him a try.
